What to do with the 140 characters
A full title is not a good title. In April 2026 Etsy published new title guidance and retired the old keyword-stuffing advice: write a clear, scannable title of about 15 words or fewer, drop gifting phrases and subjective filler, and move the detail into your tags and description. Most of the templates and SEO tools still teach the stuffed style.
So treat the counter as a ceiling, not a target. Name the item, then the material, then the one or two details a buyer searches for.
